The Grenoble-Isere airport is located in Saint Etienne de Saint Geoirs, 28 miles from Grenoble and close to Lyon Airport. It has a direct access to Rhône-Alpes motorway network around Grenoble, via the Axe de Bièvre linkroad.

The Grenoble airport, originally built for the 1968 Winter Olympics, has a modern terminal. It is 8 miles (13 km) from the A48 autoroute. Given its position it is best suited to the southerly ski resorts, in particular Les Deux Alpes and Alpe D’Huez, however the ease of travel to a departure airport in the UK could well outweigh the extra travel to the resort.
